Millfield is a large village situated some two miles from Sunderland city centre. The village boasts a good array of amenities and residents can travel by bus to Sunderland. Holly Court is situated on the edge of Millfield, just off Chester Road.

The estate, built in 1975, comprises eight one-bedroom flats for older people and 22 three-bedroom family houses.
