Signature Senior Lifestyle is proud to announce the opening of our latest community – Moorlands Lodge care home, Hindhead.
Moorlands Lodge is located in a fabulous position on a high point of the North Downs, right on the borders of three neighbouring counties – Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex.
Situated less than a mile away from the famous Devil’s Punchbowl, a vast natural amphitheatre providing spectacular vistas and wonderful walking opportunities. Ancient legend has it that the Punchbowl was created when the Devil hurled giant rocks at Thor, the Norse God of thunder – hopefully, neither of them will be around to disturb the afternoon tea sessions!
Within very easy travelling distance there are dozens of historic houses, gardens open to the public, National Trust establishments, open air museums and castles as well as theatres, art galleries, sports venues and racetracks catering for horsepower on both four legs and four wheels.
However, Moorlands Lodge residents could possibly be forgiven for deciding not to bother venturing out at all when you consider what they would be absenting themselves from; not least some of the finest dining available in the area.
The chef and his talented brigade have created menus to tempt every pallet and the superb dining rooms with neighbouring 24 hour bistro provide style and ambience in which to enjoy them.
Further relaxation and social interaction is available in any of the Moorlands Lodge lounge areas which range from a spacious but cosy area with a log fire and glass doors opening on to an extensive patio to smaller, more intimate rooms for quieter times - perhaps curling up in a comfy armchair with a good book or enjoying a coffee with friends.

Although in the countryside Southdowns is very conveniently situated indeed. We are just 4 miles from Dartford and around 6 miles from the Bluewater shopping centre both of which can be easily reached from the local bus service which stops inside our village.
From the moment you set foot in Southdowns, you will notice a friendly, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere – quite unlike the fast and furious pace of life so reminiscent of today’s society.
Our 20+ experienced staff are helpful and many of them have worked at Southdowns for a very long time and, yes, they do give you the time of day!
All residents at Southdowns must be 55 or over, which ensures that you are in a community of like-minded and discerning people.
Unusually for a retirement development, Southdowns has fully qualified nurses on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Should you have a medical emergency or need medical advice, you can be secure in the knowledge that a fully qualified and experienced nurse is always on site, giving you complete peace of mind.

A restaurant, well stocked shop, a multi function exercise room, hairdressing salon, treatment suite, games & snooker room and library & IT / internet services are among the facilities which are available for your enjoyment.
When you buy a new retirement home at St. George's Park we believe it is very important for you to be able to remain within the St George's Park retirement community for as long as you wish. It is a wonderful aspect of life today that people are generally living longer, staying healthier and getting great enjoyment from their years of retirement. Although the emphasis is not on care, St. George's Park can arrange access to all the required professional care services, either in your own retirement home, or in the nursing home (situated elsewhere within the 250 acre site).
Our on-site retirement community management team are able to arrange comprehensive domestic, house-keeping and cleaning services either using our own in house staff or by utilising our knowledge and experience of outside providers. We are happy to be the nominated emergency contact should you wish to utilise our emergency retirement community alarm system.

Sycamore Court opened in late 1992 and is situated near the centre of the attractive town of Oxted in Surrey which has many amenities. It is built around a pleasant landscaped courtyard with car parking for Owners, staff and visitors.
Couples and singles live in Sycamore Court and they do so either completely independently or they chose to make use of the communal facilities and services on offer such as enjoying the excellent lunches in the dining room where, of course, guests are welcome. Many like to join in with our social activities such as scrabble, bridge, quizzes, drinks and nibbles, parties, coffee mornings etc. There is no need to be lonely within this friendly environment.
From 8am to 10pm the Duty House Manager is available to help Owners with daily concerns and to assist with any welfare problems which arise. During the night, the Duty House Manager “sleeps-in”, and she can be contacted in an emergency by the alarm call system which is in every room of every apartment. The Owners find this an invaluable and reassuring service.
In addition there is a team of Housekeeping Assistants which work under the direction of the Duty House Manager. These staff provide one and a half hour’s domestic assistance per week in each apartment as well as keeping all the communal areas in excellent order and in addition to this, extra services may be purchased.
The Court is very conveniently situated within easy walking distance of Waitrose and Morrisons supermarkets, shops, restaurants, a library, hairdressers, a post office, banks, a leisure centre, a cinema, an excellent health centre and dental practices. Whiteley Retirement Village exists to enable its senior living residents to live the best possible life in their particular circumstances. The emphasis is on promoting and supporting independence and choice by providing an environment within which senior living residents can maximise their Physical, Social and Emotional Wellbeing. These aspects intertwine and overlap but all aspects of the Retirement Village can be linked back to these basic elements.
The foundation for all aspects of Village life is the promotion of physical wellbeing through:
Standards of Accommodation: The Retirement Village seeks to provide the best possible accommodation, specifically designed for its residents. The retirement cottages are all being modernised in what, at a total of some 34 million, is probably the largest single-project investment in social housing.
Safety and Secruity: The Retirement Village promotes a feeling of security and safety. This is partly through physical design but, most importantly, through the feeling that, with neighbours looking out for each other and the permanent presence of staff on-site, nobody is left on their own.
Activities: Within each individual's limits, physical and mental fitness are encouraged through the many activities available.
Social Wellbeing: Outside the Retirement Village, one of the most serious issues facing older people is loneliness. Whilst every villager has the choice of what they want to do and what they want to join in with, the opportunities for involvement and socialising are almost endless. If enough people are interested, then a new society or club will form within the Retirement Village to meet that need. Whilst the Trust facilitates and supports the residents, all of the clubs and societies are run "by villagers, for villagers", which strengthens the feeling of involvement and self-determination.
Whiteley Village is a charity based company therefore, applicants applying must meet certain criteria. A financial assessment will be done on application, you must be over 65 years old and you must also be able to live independently.
